"My son has a 1992 T-Bird that he is rebuilding. No one makes
a performance front exhaust so we built one. With a box of mandrel
bent pipes, a cut-off saw, and my new TIG 185, we built the pipes.
The TIG 185 is the sweetest welder I have ever used, a couple of
practice welds and off to the races.
Thanks."

"I bought
my Lincoln TIG 185 a couple of months ago for a special bicycle project.
Not just a bicycle but a "Six Pack". A Six seat bicycle.
My first
step was to start looking for a TIG welder. I had welded bicycles for
many years in the recent past for a company with all the welding equipment.
Well, I needed a welder and had used Lincoln welders as well as a couple
of the blue competitors models and I was impressed with the Lincoln welders
and their reliability. I had borrowed a friends Lincoln TIG 175 several
times and it impressed me so much that I had to have one. Well, for a
few bucks more I can get a TIG 185 with more features on it and a few
more amps. I jumped on it and couldn't wait to start welding.
WOW!!! This thing is smooth, quiet and I love the way it operates. The
project is under way and going smooth.
Thank you for a Great product!"

"
If I could choose any welding machine to take with me in my trailer, it
would be the Precision TIG 185. I would recommend this unit to the guy
working in his home garage right up to the professional welder at the
race track. The Precision TIG 185 is very user friendly and versatile
for any skill level.
I especially like the pulsing feature which provides a rippled effect, even on aluminum. The arc has great starting characteristics and superb cleaning action.
Hands down, it is much better than the competitive unit which has inconsistent arc cleaning action. As the driver, builder and repairman of a monster truck, I also appreciated the unit’s convenience features such as the cable hanger and built-in storage.
And it’s not just the machine, it’s the company behind the machine too. Lincoln has proved to be a professional company with which I love doing business. I know that when I call Lincoln, I’ll get an answer."

"I teach an aircraft welding course to students studying to become aircraft mechanics, so I have all skills levels from those experienced in welding to those who have never made a weld before. What first caught my attention with the Precision TIG 185 is the simple control panel that is not too overwhelming to the beginner.
I was also impressed by the unit’s Micro-Start™ Technology which enables excellent starts at very low amperages and provides for an extremely stable arc. For students just learning to make welds on the thin materials used in the aircraft industry such as stainless, aluminum and chrome
moly, this stable arc will allow them to control the weld puddle better. Even though the Precision TIG is simple to use, it has high-end capabilities such as pulsing functions and arc balance.
The unit’s digital meters help beginners more accurately set weld parameters and the machine also has a number of other bonuses such as storage and a flexible torch cable. I would like to use these units not only in the lab, but I plan on purchasing one for my home use as well."
